About our providers.

Ashley McKenzie, msn, pmhnp-bc

Mental health provider towson

Hello!

I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner licensed and based in the State of Maryland. Born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of western Maryland, I was surrounded by nature and loved spending time in the woods and at the river. Even though I loved my small town, I discovered that I was a Wanderluster that loved to travel the world. After graduating from the University of Maryland with my Master of Science in Nursing, I traveled to Costa Rica and fell in love with the country, the Pura Vida lifestyle, and my now husband, Gustavo. While living in Costa Rica, we started our family. Both challenges and joys of life, living abroad, and parenting, instilled in me a deep appreciation for finding the peace in every situation and learning true resilience.

I have worked in various areas of mental health to include Adolescent and Adult Inpatient Psych, Outpatient Psych, PHP/IOP, Emergency/Crisis and Corrections. Through all of these experiences, I have developed a well-rounded and pragmatic approach to mental health that is built on compassion and balance. I began my own practice to better serve my community in meaningful ways and to incorporate all of my influences into my work.

I am a strong advocate for living a healthy, balanced lifestyle. I enjoy spinning, strength-training, and spending quality time outdoors with my friends and family. The ocean and nature calm and refresh me, bringing peace and balance to my mind and soul.

When we learn how to become resilient, we learn how to embrace the beautifully broad spectrum of the human experience.
